Process:
The goal of the project was to exercise Unreal Engine and motion capture to light and render a short film. We designed the film to have a volumetric look, reminiscent of volumetric render passes used in 3D animation.
We began by seeking out a partner in the dance department. We collaborated with a graduate dance student and a senior technologist at ACCAD on the choreography of the dance.
We experimented with recording a virtual camera and motion capture streamed to a Metahuman to pre-visualize possible camera angles.
