A short film produced in 4 weeks with 2 other students. My goal in this film was to begin to learn the skills and considerations of a previz artist.

The Final Layout of the film

Process:
Acting as a previz or rough layout artist, my goal was to visualize the storyboards in 3 dimensions as fast as possible. The director provided 2 versions of the storyboards, which needed to be reconciled. The film also needed to properly scoped to be finished in 4 weeks.
Using premade assets and 2D cards, I visualized the film within a couple days. We were able to make some quick adjustments. We simplified our Paris background to reduce the number of assets we needed to build and removed a 2D transition shot (image 3 above).
After many iterations, the cameras were provided to the animator. The animator made changes to the camera to suit their animation. I then reworked these cameras to make the final layout shown in the video above.
